Annual General Meeting
Saturday, December 7, 6:00-7:30 pm

Dear Inc. Members,

We wanted to touch base to remind you that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming up on Saturday, December 7 at 6:00 pm, to be followed by the opening reception of SWARM, our annual members exhibition, from 7:30-11:00 pm. Read on to learn more about SWARM. 2019 has brought some major changes for the Inc. and we’re excited to share them with the membership at the AGM.

As a not-for-profit organization, the Inc. is run by a Board of Directors which is elected each annual term by our membership (individuals such as you who support the gallery) at our AGM. The Board of Directors help guide the organization towards its vision while ensuring it is responsible, transparent, and sustainable. The Executive Committee (comprised of Board Co-Chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer) informs the core functions of the organization such as finances and human resources. Board members also lead committees dedicated to specific functions of the organization including Programming, Development, Special Events and Fundraising, Facilities, Communications, and equity and inclusion (NEW Committee). The AGM will include summary reports to share notable highlights and significant achievements of these committees from the past year.

Members of the Inc. in attendance at the AGM may expect to be presented with notes from the 2018 AGM (the ‘Minutes’) and applications from individuals who would like to join the Inc.'s Board of Directors. Following review of these applications, members in attendance at the AGM will vote on the inclusion of new applicants to the Board of Directors for a 2-year term.

We also look forward to telling you about upcoming events and exhibitions, announcing our annual giving campaign, as well as celebrating some hard-won successes that have been years in the making through the efforts of many members.
