The Salvation Army Lawson Ministries – Paparella Innovative Art Program provides adults with developmental disabilities a creative space to gain a sense of self-awareness and life meaning.  The program encourages individuals to create independently with a variety of sensory-stimulating materials.  Motivational art projects are geared towards each individual’s level of cognitive and physical ability. For many of the artists, the creative process serves as an alternative means of communication. This year, in partnership with Autism Innovation and Airborne Films, participants of the art program engaged in a quilt project.  One of the finished quilts is displayed in the exhibit.
