Window Activations
Deadline: November 28, 2020

This winter, we will be showcasing artwork by Inc. members in our street-facing windows. We always welcome new and returning members, who will then be eligible to participate. Similar to our annual members' exhibition SWARM, submissions will not be juried but only one artwork from each artist will be accepted. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, each round of window activations will be on view for 1-3 weeks at a time and feature at least 4 artists. Artists are asked to submit print-quality images of their work which will be used to produce a large printout to be mounted in the windows.

Can I bring in my original artwork instead?

No, due to the hanging limitations in the Inc.’s windows, and the wide variety of our members' practices, we will not be accepting original artworks for this particular opportunity. We will be creating a print of your artwork that will be mounted in the windows instead. All costs of printing and mounting will be covered by the Inc.

What happens to the print of my art after the exhibition?

Members are encouraged to pick up the print of their artwork after the exhibition. We will provide pick-up dates and times after the end of the project. Any prints that are not claimed by the artist will be discarded. Artists retain full copyright of their work.

My work is sculptural, three-dimensional, or media-based. Can I still participate?

Yes, you can! We encourage you to consider sending us an image of your sculptural work, performance documentation, or video stills to be printed and exhibited. Close-up images highlighting a particular detail or aspect of your piece will also work well.

Preparing your images:

Please submit two high-quality images of your work. The Inc. will choose the one we feel is better suited to being printed at a large scale. Images should be at least 4000 pixels on the smallest side, but the larger the better. Please crop your images to your preference and edit them for colour accuracy. RGB colour mode. The file extensions should be jpeg, png, or tiff. Please name your image files is this format: LastName_option1 and LastName_option2.
