The Inc is hosting a free Naloxone Training workshop, facilitated by our neighbours at SOPEN (Substance Overdose Prevention & Education Network). In this workshop, SOPEN teaches community members how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses/drug poisonings. They cover how to safely administer Naloxone, the basics of harm reduction, and provide a brief picture of what the toxic drug crisis looks like in Hamilton right now. The workshop is free & no registration is required!
About the facilitator:
Steph (she/her) is the Secretary on SOPEN’s Board of Directors and a third year PhD student in Social Work at McMaster University. Steph has worked frontline with folks who use drugs and/or experience homelessness for several years, and she loves Hamilton, caffeine, and libraries. She is probably reading a historical romance novel right now.
