On Friday, March 13th from 7-9pm, come hang out with one of our ‘Dreams to get you through the night’ artists, Abby Nowakowski, as she guides you through crafting your own hanging art piece!

In this workshop, we will learn about hanging mobiles and how physics and art can be best friends. Abby will chat about alternative ways folks can approach their own creation, and then you’ll be free to craft a mobile to your heart’s content! The emphasis for the evening will be on process and play.

We will provide a variety of thrifted and donated trinkets, beads, driftwood, buttons, charms, ribbon, thread, aluminum, fabric, paper, metal wire and fishing wire to create your piece.

Feel free to bring your own objects to add into your mobile so that it’s extra special & custom-to-you! Here are a few ideas: a photo of someone you love, souvenirs, a receipt from your favourite restaurant, treasures, a polaroid, miniatures, beads from jewelry you no longer wear, dried flowers, found objects, art supplies you have lying around that you have no idea what to do with.

We will supply pins for creating holes into objects that you bring (so be sure that it’s something that a hole can be put into), or you can tie around your objects with wire.

This workshop is free and drop-in. Come solo or bring a pal!
